GENDER-SPECIFIC FEATURES OF THE TRANSLATION OF PRONOUNS IN LITERARY TEXTS

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of gender features of pronouns in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages ​​and the ways of translating of those grammatical units in literary texts. It should be noted that the Kazakh, Russian and English cultures are quite different, as well as their grammatical structure. In this regard, it is clear that translators face many difficulties in the process of interpreting the original text into the target language. This article examines this problem in the context of gender and generic names. At the beginning, we will consider in what aspects of grammar gender features are revealed in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages, what methods are used in the translational process. The examples for analysis are excerpts from Kazakh literary text, which was translated first into Russian and then indirectly was translated into English. This comparative analysis serves as a resource for linguists, translators, interpreters and individuals interested in the intersection of language, gender and culture
