The article examines the legal aspects of platform employment as one of the forms of atypical labor activity. Based on the analysis of scientific research on this issue, as well as regulatory acts of the European Union and foreign legislation, the need for a clear legal definition of the status of platform workers and their qualifications is substantiated to ensure proper regulation of their work activities. A critical assessment of the provisions of the Social and Labor Codes of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the norms governing the work of platform workers, has been carried out. The article argues for the need to develop and adopt a special law "On the legal regulation of the work of platform workers" in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which should address key issues to balance the rights and guarantees of this category of workers with workers in traditional employment
