Abstract

Incorporating engaging and authentic materials into language education is a growing focus in modern pedagogy. This study investigates how serialized TV shows, specifically “Friends”, can serve as a powerful tool for enhancing listening skills and cultural awareness among foreign language learners. Through the combination of contextual storytelling and authentic dialogues, TV shows provide a dynamic approach to language acquisition. A survey conducted with learners revealed significant improvements in their cultural understanding, listening comprehension, and vocabulary retention. The findings emphasize the potential of serialized storytelling to transform traditional listening practices, offering educators an innovative and effective teaching strategy.
