Factors affecting the development of EFL learners’ listening skills

Abstract

Listening is a fundamental skill in language learning, and for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, it holds particular importance in facilitating effective communication. The ability to comprehend spoken language in various contexts is crucial for everyday interactions, academic success, and professional development. However, the development of EFL learners' listening skills can be influenced by various factors, both internal and external.  This exploratory article demonstrates key factors that influence EFL learners' listening abilities and discuss strategies to enhance their listening proficiency.
