Hydrogen has been identified as a key building block in the European energy transition to zero carbon economy, which requires full assessment of its limitations and uncertainties, relavant to its versatility as an energy carrier, and as a feedstock to produce other fuels and industry products. This study provides a brief discussion of the challenges and benefits to the energy system due to green hydrogen production are considered as well as a brief assessment of the requirements for new hydrogen installations. The methodology of research is described in details and the expected outcomes of this research are listed in brief. This research work is still ongoing and further findings and recommendations will be published in due course.
