Abstract

In Central Asia in the period of independence the new model of art began to develop. In these countries Contemporary art is reflecting the idea of national identity, New mediums allowed artists to more decisively move beyond the framework of Soviet identity, artists turn to textile traditions to create conceptual discourse. the article analyzes this process from the 1990s to the present . In the projects of artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan This article is analyzing installations of A. Menlibaeva, V. Akhunov, U. Japarov, V. Useinov, D. Kaipova.
