Abstract

Preterm infants represent one of the most vulnerable patient groups requiring specialized medical care and a comprehensive diagnostic approach. Functional diagnostics plays a key role in the early detection of disorders of vital body systems and the timely correction of pathological conditions. In inpatient settings, a number of organizational and clinical challenges persist, including limited resources, insufficient equipment, a shortage of trained personnel, and the lack of standardized approaches.
The aim of this review is to analyze current challenges and directions for improving functional diagnostic services for preterm infants in hospital settings. It has been established that promising areas include the implementation of modern diagnostic technologies, the development of multidisciplinary approaches, digitalization of processes, and continuous professional development of healthcare personnel.
