Abstract

The foundation of literary pronunciation and correct writing habits is laid in high school. Regular matching and comparison of the letter with sound, oral and written speech plays a positive role in the acquisition of both orthographic and orthographic habits. Currently, special attention is paid to teaching spelling rules. In this work, the importance of phonetics is great.

Good knowledge of phonetics is very important for writing correctly and speaking fluently in literary language. For this, phonetics lessons should be structured in such a way that they directly help speech development.

Students have already learned a number of phonetic concepts from elementary school. Inculcation of phonetic knowledge starts from V class. The content of the course includes sound and letter, vowels and consonants, their classification, rules of pronunciation and writing of vowels and consonants, the law of harmony and in-depth teaching of accent concepts. By learning these concepts, students should be able to distinguish between sounds and letters, analyze vowels and consonants according to their types, divide words into syllables and move them from line to line, anticipate the law of harmony in words, and know the place of stress in words.

One of the main tasks facing the teaching of phonetics is to explain the relationship between orthography and orthography, to develop students' oral and written speech. The orthography of the Azerbaijani language has been strengthened in the oral literary language in accordance with the sound system of our national language and formed in the order of correct pronunciation. It is very important that these rules, which are accepted by all, are mastered by the students. Mistakes in speech are made if the existing rules are not followed.

It is important to develop the ability to correctly use these or other orthoepic rules related to the pronunciation of vowels and consonants in speech.

Studies applied to master literary pronunciation are divided into three groups according to their purpose:

  1. Studies aimed at making students aware of the inconsistencies between the writing and speaking of words.
  2. Studies aimed at teaching the pronunciation of syllable stress.
  3. Studies applied with the aim of eliminating orthographic defects inherent in dialect pronunciation and ordinary speech
