Abstract

This article theoretically examines the features of self-care skills development in children aged 3-4 years with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The relevance of the research topic is determined by the key role of self-care skills in the social adaptation of children with ASD in early preschool age, as well as the insufficient study of this issue in modern special education and psychology. The article is structured as a literature review and, drawing on domestic and foreign scientific research, comprehensively analyzes the specifics of self-care skills formation in children of this age group, their relationship with the level of sensorimotor and emotional-volitional development, as well as a detailed analysis of the main difficulties encountered in mastering self-care skills and their psychological and pedagogical causes. The factors influencing the formation of self-care skills in children with ASD (sensory integration disorders, low level of voluntary attention, difficulties with imitation) are identified, and their interrelation and developmental dynamics are theoretically substantiated.
