Automation of Industries in Kazakhstan: Advancing Toward Industry 4.0

This article examines the current state of industrial automation in Kazakhstan, focusing on the challenges, strategic initiatives, and government policies shaping the country’s transition toward digitalization. It explores the role of Industry 4.0 technologies in enhancing productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness across various sectors, including manufacturing, metallurgy, and mechanical engineering. The paper highlights the establishment of Industry 4.0 model factories and the importance of international collaborations in driving technological advancements. Despite the significant progress made, Kazakhstan faces several barriers to automation, including insufficient digital infrastructure, a shortage of skilled workforce, financial limitations, and organizational resistance. The article discusses these challenges and offers recommendations for overcoming them, such as enhancing digital infrastructure, expanding training programs, and strengthening cybersecurity measures. By addressing these issues, Kazakhstan can accelerate its industrial modernization and effectively integrate into global value chains.
