Abstract

Communication, which positively affects a child's development, personality, and intelligence, has become one of the most fundamental needs in the last century, and for a person to be able to exist, they need to have the right communication skills. When examining definitions of communication, it is seen that initially, references were made to communication tools, and later, attention was drawn to human relations. Communication is defined in its broadest sense as the activity of sharing information. Whether it is to disseminate information, educate, entertain, influence, or simply express, it is related to giving information; in other words, it is a behavior directed towards information (Anderson, 1996; Ruben, 1984). Through communication, people establish connections with other people, other thoughts, and other situations. Since the individual plays an important role in communication, most researchers have focused their studies on the individual. Lazar, accepting that interpersonal communication is the basis of all human communication, defined interpersonal communication as the interaction carried out for individuals to understand each other (Lazar, 2001).
