ASSESSING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: VIEWPOINT OF PEDAGOGICAL MEASUREMENTS STUDENTS

This article discusses the features of the implementation of the competency-based approach in education, in particular, the authors explore the problem of assessing the educational achievements of students. Competencies, as one of the key components of educational achievement, are of particular interest for measurement in the learning process. The complex nature of competencies requires a systematic, in-depth approach to their evaluation, as they are not only the end but also the starting point of learning. Countries and international organizations are puzzled by the issue of competency assessment, and various methods and approaches are used to measure the competencies of students. In order to identify students' awareness of the competency-based approach to teaching, understanding the essence of the concept of competence and educational achievements, a survey was compiled and conducted among students studying at the "Pedagogical Measurements". Conclusions made by authors will be used in order to improve the teaching process of assessing educational achievements.
