Abstract

Azerbaijani folk art and its branch, carpet weaving, occupy a special place in the history of the nation's national culture. The most widespread type of folk art is carpet art, which has taken a firm place in the life of the Azerbaijani people and has almost become a symbol of the people. Pile and non-pile carpets, decorated with various pattern elements and images, are used in wall decorations and flooring of tents, tents, sheds, as well as residential houses and other buildings, and at the same time are of high aesthetic importance.

It is known that since the Middle Ages, Azerbaijani carpets have been known in European countries and are highly appreciated by foreign merchants. Admirable information about our carpets exported to European countries can be found in the manuscripts of historians and travelers.
