The problem of the impact of divorce on the psychological state of child and adolescent
Abstract
Family is the most important thing a child has. It satisfies the basic psychological needs of children for love, communication, and safety. From the first days of birth, a child feels affection, learns to feel, love, and trust. A child learns from the example of his parents to build further relationships, perceive the good, and survive crisis situations. Therefore, the destruction of a family cannot but affect the psychological state of a teenager and his future life. According to the assessments of the teenagers themselves, among life events that cause stress, divorce of parents is in 4th place after the death of parents, brothers and sisters, and close friends.
Divorce affects all family members, but is perceived differently by parents and children. For parents, it is a solution to some of their own hopeless situations, everyday issues, psychological incompatibility, and much more. And for children, it is a collapse of the picture of the world, a loss of security and love.
