THE STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF THE LITERARY TEXT
Abstract
The literary text has been analysed from the viewpoint of various categories, including the analytical and interpretational elements. Meanwhile, the semantic characteristics as well as the structural aspects are considered the essential ones for reflecting the rare and unique features of the author. When analyzing the text, the reader is able to define the method of characterization, the peculiar narrative style, explicit and implicit lexical patterns, and specific syntactical structures.
The following fragments comprise the variety of activities based on the short story “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde. The activities focus on the comprehensive analysis of the fiction for the 2nd –year students (Intermediate Level).
