Abstract

The issue of gambling addiction has profound social implications, affecting individuals and society as a whole. This study aims to understand the social implications of problem gambling through the analysis of existing research in this field. The research goal is to synthesize and systematize data on the impact of problem gambling on various social spheres, including family, economy, healthcare, and societal structure. The study employed a method of review analysis of scientific articles, reports, and publications addressing the issues of gambling and its social consequences. Comprehensive data analysis and synthesis were conducted, identifying key themes and conclusions. The findings indicate multiple social consequences of problem gambling, including financial losses, disruptions in family relationships, psychological issues, and criminal activity. The identified data underscore the need for the development and implementation of comprehensive measures aimed at preventing problem gambling and mitigating its social consequences. This research contributes to the academic understanding of the social aspects of problem gambling and can be beneficial for the development of effective strategies to manage this social phenomenon.
