Abstract

This article presents an assessment of the Housing Affordability Index (HAI) in Kazakhstan, examines its current status and historical background on the development of the mortgage market. Using statistical analysis, the study assesses housing affordability for Kazakhstanis, taking into account factors such as income levels, housing prices and mortgage availability. In addition, the article provides a brief overview of the evolution of mortgage lending in Kazakhstan after the country gained independence.
