ABOUT THE MAIN PERSPECTIVES OF TEACHING SPEECH CULTURE NORMS OF THE AZERBAIJANI LANGUAGE AT THE MODERN STAGE
Abstract
Speech culture is one of the leading problems of modern Azerbaijani linguistics. In particular, during the period of independence, the study, application and teaching of speech culture was not only an important issue of education, but also became a strategic field related to information dissemination. The strategic importance of the speech culture is that the information is no longer limited within the country, as it was during the bilingualism period, and has gained opportunities to spread in a wider scope. As the Republic of Azerbaijan is an independent, sovereign state, the Azerbaijani language has acquired the right to enter the international world at the level of the official language of this country.
Acquiring the culture of speech should not only consist of memorizing the phonetic, lexical and grammatical norms, but should be evaluated as achieving the correct, honest, clear and logical transmission of information. The history of the study of speech culture issues in Azerbaijani linguistics is not very old. Interest in this field started to arise and grow almost from the late 1960s. After the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, took special care of his mother tongue, the network of researches related to the issues of speech culture began to expand further
