Abstract

The East-West Corridor plays a significant role in the economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This corridor strengthens the country's geostrategic position by serving as a key transportation route between Asia and Europe. It is particularly important in terms of transit cargo transportation, the expansion of regional cooperation, and the implementation of new economic projects. The East-West Corridor contributes not only to Azerbaijan's economy but also to the integration of the Eurasian region.

As a result of the development of this corridor, Azerbaijan’s transport infrastructure is modernized, international freight volumes are increased, new jobs are created, and economic resilience is strengthened. The role of this route in global trade between Europe and China also supports the diversification of Azerbaijan's economy and boosts its export potential.

In addition to safeguarding Azerbaijan’s national interests, the East-West Corridor enhances the country's international position, turning it into a major transport and logistics hub in the region
