Abstract

This study explores the role of case study activities in fostering divergent thinking among foreign language learners. Divergent thinking, a critical skill in language acquisition, enables students to generate multiple ideas and solutions, enhancing their creativity, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving abilities. The research investigates the effectiveness of case studies in promoting these skills by examining their impact on language learners' engagement, creativity, and cognitive development. A quantitative design was employed, combining surveys from 30 students and educators involved in foreign language education. The results indicate that case studies significantly enhance divergent thinking and creativity, with students demonstrating improved problem-solving skills. The study highlights the potential of case studies to foster a dynamic learning environment, though it also emphasizes the need for tailored approaches to maximize their effectiveness
