THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS IN THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT TO SUPPORT THE GOALS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The relevance of the research lies in the fact that the modern world is facing global challenges that require cooperation and mutual understanding between cultures. In the context of the rapid development of international relations and integration, intercultural competence is becoming one of the key competencies for students. Education focused on sustainable development provides for the formation of skills among young people necessary for effective interaction in a diverse cultural environment. This topic is relevant because intercultural competence is a tool for achieving sustainable development goals such as quality education and global partnership. The purpose of this study is to study and evaluate strategies and tactics for the development of intercultural competence among students in the framework of education in the field of sustainable development. The originality of the work lies in the fact that it combines and explores theoretical ideas about intercultural competence and education for sustainable development. The theoretical significance lies in the study of modern theoretical views on the idea of intercultural competence with an emphasis on its functions within the framework of sustainable development. The work confirms the link between the global Sustainable Development Goals and the development of this competence. The usefulness demonstrates how the results of the study can be applied to create educational initiatives and implement advanced teaching strategies in colleges and educational institutions
